Teleprompters are ubiquitous in the TV world. They help presenters stay on queue and help keep the content nice and tight.
PromptSmart, an intelligent prompter app, brings that to your smart device!
The app listens to your voice using your device’s built-in microphone and then scrolls through the words just like a traditional teleprompter would.
Let’s take a look at how the magic happens.
In the post, we’ll cover the free PromptSmart Lite version and in the video you can see the PromptSmart Pro version in action!
When you load the app, you get taken to your home screen.
To add a script, tap on Add New.
From here you can:
- Import a script from Google Drive, OneDrive, Box or Dropbox
- Write a new script straight into the app
- Import a NoteCard from Google Drive, OneDrive, Box or Dropbox
- Write a new NoteCard straight into the app
Once you’ve created your script, you can find it in your script library. Tap on the scrip you’d like to use to open it.
To start using the teleprompter, tap on the play button.
Promptsmart takes your script and transforms it.
Pop your device at eye level and start talking! The app will roll through your script at the speed of your voice.
It’s an incredibly useful tool for anyone who makes content-heavy videos and wants to stay focused and cover set points.
The PrompScript lite version is a great beginner tool- you can run through your scripts smoothly but it lacks some bells and whistles.
The PrompScript Pro version adds useful features like a timer, remembering your script position and an indicator to show you where you are at.
Using an prompt app can help you make tighter, content packed videos and take some of the pressure of you!
Why not try it?
Until next time, have fun storming the castle!
